This weeks on the radar we are going to cover three dive watches. One affordable. One you may need to save for. One you may need to sell your liver for. I guess it all depends on the cards you were dealt and what you've done with them. In any fashion these are proper tool watches that will go toe to toe with even the roughest and rowdiest of desk divers. So with out further Adieu lets talk divers.
The Holton Professional is an absolute beast of a tool watch. Coming in a 43mm case with a lug to lug of 52 and a thickness of 12mm. Its not for the dainty but I mean why kid yourself if youv got child arms this watch isn't for you(Realistically 6 1/4" to 9" Wrists). Now two of my favorite aspects. Number one being they utilize a screw in lug bar system. Yea you probably are thinking " Oh like Sangin". No not like Sangin. Like Elliot Brown since they beat them to the punch by years. Now everyone else is just a copy. The second being the case back. The case back has six hex screws instead of the ever so standard threaded case back. Being that this is the Professional model, at the heart is a Swiss Ronda 715 movement that happens to be used in a slew of bad ass watches. ( They do offer an Auto Ref for a little more $) If you are a strap guy then boiii is this going to get you going. You can get a bracelet for theses that has micro adjusts as well as a lumed logo on the clasp which is a nice touch. These bracelets come in a few finishes incase you gravitate towards their SS offerings. These are a steal at $200usd. LINK HERE
This moderate swede comes in at 40mm from nine to three and a lug to lug of 47mm. This will be something smaller wrists can get away with and not feel like they have a boat anchor on their arm.(6-7 1/2" wrists) My favorite part about Doxa is the sheer fact that its like wearing a vintage watch but with out wearing a vintage watch. They have kept with their vintage designs while using modern manufacturing. This translates to insanely good watches. The 600t first dropped 43 years ago and its still an absolutely gorgeous watch. I have chosen to high light the Sharkhunter model. If you are not familiar with the brand they have a set 7 color ways that they do all models in besides the Doxa Army. The 600T also has two bezel variations. One SS and the other black. This gives you the consumer plenty of options. I myself have the Sub 300 in Aquamarine. I personally like all the color ways and models. Once you get in the Doxa brand you will feel like Ash Ketchum. GOTTA CATCH EM ALL. For the strap bois. Doxa offers these on SS bracelet with a pop open dive extension. As well as some cool rubber options. But get ready to bust out some money because boy of boy are they proud of their rubber straps. This one is quite a bit more than the last two but for good measure. The Tudor Pelagos is manufactured out of grade 2 titanium. Making this a strong but ultra light tool watch. The color of the titanium pairs nicely with the black and white dial and bezel. Tudor has a great bracelet and clasp system. This model comes in at 39mm which is a great size for the majority. If its easily justifiable then this is a no brainer. COSC certified, titanium, and a classic mil divers look. Get ready to sell those livers though cuz she aint cheap.
Those are my three on the radar picks for the week. Thank you and God bless.
