For The Love of Two-Tone.

Gooday and Welcome

The algorithms have been hammering me with two tone watches. Paired with seeing some friends pick a couple up, Its got me wanting to add a two tone to the collection. Everything I currently own is in stainless steel. I had a Halios Seaforth in bronze that was able to cure the flashy gold itch with a fresh polish. There is something mesmerizing about gold. Us humans have devoured it since its discovery. Using it for literally everything. From toilets to guns you name it and there has probably been a gold version of it.

My opinion on two tone is that its an intermediate between the tool stainless steel look and the I may possibly be in Saudi money look. Two tone is the middle of the road. The working mans steez. It says yea I get my hands dirty, but I also like to party. You can rock it while hanging drywall all day and then hit the casino in it. It works, Undeniably well. And to the people that say " Its for the poor's", or " Why wouldn't you get full gold". Shove it. Two tone is sick and that's the verdict.

We happen to live in the "Golden Age" of watch making. In that there are so many manufactures in 2023 that you can find something for just about any budget. You can get a two tone Seiko 5 for around one hundred dollars US. There is always the Rolex route if your trying to flex that wallet a bit. Two tone Datejusts or even a Submariner would be a very cool choice. There is a beauty in that. Anyone can snag one and wear it with pride. One of my personal favorite routes would be the trusty Seiko MOD. There are some really great watch builders out there that are able to build exactly what you want and usually for a great value. These watches are not Seiko blessed which can have some downfalls. But going with a trusted source who is as passionate about Horology as we are will leave you satisfied every time. Check out GiggaWattWatches for your Custom Seiko MOD needs.

Now lets look at some two tone magic.

Here we have a two tone Zodiac Super Sea Wolf. These watches are a great wear at 40mm and have that awesome vintage look.

Seiko 5 two tone. These newer Seiko 5s are a big step up from the ones produced in the 90s and early 2000's. Both are great options, If you want to spend a little less you can go with the vintage Seikos. The big difference between the two is mainly the case construction and materials are stronger and more robust on the latest models.

The Raven Trekker in two tone is a no nonsense tool watch. Raven is an awesome US based tool watch company. They are in partnership with NODUS as well which is another bad ass US based watch company. These two tone vintage trekkers come in at 39 which happens to be one of my favorite sizes. This watch is currently sold out on Ravens website so you'll have to check FB groups and Reddit.

Last but not least is the Steinhart Ocean One 39 two tone. There are two different variations of this one either in black or chocolate. I love the chocolate one personally, has that root beer vibe. These 39mm Steinhart's are a great size and extremely comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate on one of these.

I think Steinhart is a strong contender for my watch box. Thanks for stopping by!

Stay Deadly.
