On The Radar.

Gooday and Welcome.

We meet again on this fine week to highlight four watches that deserve a go. Last week we had a strong line up, one of which I happen to have on the way to the Recon Headquarters. I am looking forward to writing an initial review before putting it through a 6 months testing period fallowed by a check up article. We will see how it holds up to the harsh North Texas summer.

Lets get into it, this week we have

Number 1. Bulova Hack- Coming in at 38mm this vintage inspired field watch is simple and classic. This watch has 18mm lugs. This size seems to be the smallest lug width  I am willing to wear. Inside the lovely round case is a Miyota 82SO movements that has a decent 42 Hr power reserve. This watch comes in  4 or 5 different dial variations and 2 different bezel options. The bracelet in the photograph can be found on Amazon. This watch is currently on sale on Jomashop for $215. I think this ones is a no brainer and Ill have to pick one up for my wife for Mothers Day.

Number 2. Timex Legacy Day and Date-This is just a down right fun watch. It has all the Rolex vibez and at a price that anyone can afford. This is a 41mm SS case with 20mm lugs and a Height of only 10mm. What I like the most about this one is the clasp. It looks like its very comfortable and its short which will make it easy for majority of wrists. This is a classic watch that goes anywhere. This one comes in at only $159usd on the Timex website. Get yours here at Timex.com.

Number 3. Nodus Unity- This is a beautiful watch that I personally can not wait to get my hands on and check out. The dimensions look amazing at only 36.5mm , 43.5 Lug to Lug, 20mm Lug width, and 11.3mm thick. This is another one that will be extremely comfortable to wear all day every day, even on bracelet. Inside this bad boy is a very cool textured dial that gives this some 1970s plastic mold wood grain aesthetic. Nodus nailed the bezel on this, I think this is really cool and something different than the polished or fluted pilots bezel. The ceramic insert gives it a little touch of color and I love it. I would love to see this in a black and a brown colorway.

Number 4. Ball Watch Co Fireman DU- This Ball is very high on my list and possibly the next purchase. This beautiful 40mm SS sports watch comes in at 11mm thick with the standard Ball Watch butterfly clasp. This may be a negative for some with larger wrists but my Ball Engineer has the same mechanism and I enjoy it. This Ball in particular is really special to me because it is a Ducks Unlimited model. Ducks Unlimited is a wild life conservation group that specializes in water fowl. My grandfather has been a Ducks Unlimited member since before I was born so naturally I grew up on it. I grew up hunting ducks with my grandfather every season starting in 1998 at the age of 5. I fell in love with the sport and even have a DU tattoo. Needless to say when I laid my eyes on the camo dial my heart skipped a beat and I knew I needed it. To top it all off if you haven't heard of Ball Watch co, they use Tritium tubes in their watches giving them a very unique look. This watch is on a good sale right now on Jomashop. Check it out, if the camo is not for you they also have a black dial version.

Thanks for stopping by.

Stay Deadly.
