The Read on Hawkriggergear

Hello and welcome

This article should come as no surprise if you follow me on Instagram. I started off by picking up one of Hawkriggergear's straps, the Calypso O Rig in olive green. I placed my order and waited. I had in the back of my head that it may take as long as CNS likes to take. After all they both come from across the pond. Luckily it showed up to the Recon HQ in a matter of 7 days. This was a great surprise. All the way from Cornwall UK.

I wasted absolutely no time getting it put on my 1983 CWC RN300 Re Issue. It looks killer.

Every aspect of these straps are thought through very well. The fabrics are threaded in a way to prevent fraying. The in house designed buckles draw it all together in a way that no other strap manufacturer gets right. They are well designed and manufactured. So many others get this wrong. They use cheap cheap cheap buckles and it makes the strap an absolute boner kill. Stu used his noggin on this one and made some buckles that are designed for a HUMANS ARM.

That's right guys the buckle is curved and not straight. That means that it hugs the wrist. It wont bite you. These straps are done in a way that make you feel as if they should be standard issue to any and all armed forces....I'm looking at you MOD. Stu nails this theme across all of his soft goods.

After spending three days with the Hawkriggergear Calypso on my CWC I knew I was all in. I then ordered a grey Calypso O Rig and three sets of the 2 piece field straps. The two piece field strap is a lovely choice for the watches that don't do single pass/ NATO straps well. This can either be to a poorly designed caseback/ lug turn down combinations. Or like in my case with the Ball Watch Engineer 3, they simply placed the lug holes to close to the case for fabric to pass between.

He has quite a few options for us today on the site and I'm happy to show you some and link them below. Like I said already I am all in with Team Hawkriggergear. Theses are by far the best go anywhere do anything strap. Stu is the ethical strap maker. No fuss.

That’s my 2 cents on Hawkriggergear straps. Buy them. Or don’t. Ill be wearing mine with pride.

Stay Deadly.
